Mahallify has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). This page describes how we prevent CSAE on our platform, how users can report concerns, and how we respond to and report violations to authorities.
1. Our Commitment
Mahallify is a community platform connecting Central Asian diaspora communities. The safety of minors who may use or appear on the platform is a top priority. We comply with all applicable child safety laws — including the U.S. federal reporting obligations under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A — and we cooperate fully with law enforcement when CSAE is reported or detected.
2. Prohibited Content and Conduct
The following are strictly prohibited on Mahallify and result in immediate account termination, content removal, and reporting to authorities:
Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM)
Any visual depiction, image, video, or content that sexualizes a minor or depicts a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct, in any form or context.
Grooming and Solicitation
Any communication intended to build a relationship with a minor for the purpose of sexual exploitation, including soliciting sexual content, in-person meetings, or romantic engagement with a minor.
Sextortion and Coercion
Threatening, coercing, or extorting a minor — or anyone — using sexual content. This includes attempting to obtain financial gain, additional content, or compliance through such threats.
Trading or Distribution
Sharing, trading, advertising, linking to, or otherwise distributing CSAM or content that sexualizes minors — through messages, listings, profiles, or any other surface on Mahallify.
Other Endangerment of Minors
Any other content or conduct that sexually exploits, endangers, or causes harm to minors, including the use of generative AI to produce CSAM.
3. How to Report CSAE
If you encounter content or behavior on Mahallify that violates these standards, please report it immediately. There are several ways to do so:
In-app reporting: Tap the report icon (•••) on any user profile, listing, post, or message. Select "Child safety" as the reason and provide details. Reports are reviewed as a top priority.
Email: Send a detailed report to support@mahallify.us with the subject line "CSAE Report".
Directly to authorities (US): The NCMEC CyberTipline at report.cybertip.org accepts public reports 24/7.
Local law enforcement: Contact your local police or, in the U.S., the FBI at tips.fbi.gov.
Reports may be made anonymously. We do not retaliate against good-faith reporters.
4. Our Response Process
When a CSAE report is received or such content is detected, we follow this process:
Within hours: The reported content is removed from public visibility and the associated account is suspended pending review.
Within 24 hours: A report is filed with the NCMEC CyberTipline as required under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A. Where applicable, we also notify regional and local authorities.
Evidence preservation: All evidence — including content, account data, message logs, IP addresses, and device identifiers — is preserved for at least 90 days, in accordance with federal preservation requirements.
Account termination: The violating account is permanently terminated, and we take reasonable steps to prevent the user from re-registering.
Cooperation: We cooperate fully with any subsequent law enforcement investigation, including responding promptly to lawful requests for information.
5. Prevention and Detection
We take proactive measures to prevent CSAE on Mahallify:
Pre-publication review: New listings, businesses, events, and posts are reviewed by moderators before they appear publicly. Posts that violate our standards are rejected before publication.
User reporting: Every user-generated surface (profiles, listings, messages, posts) includes an in-app report button.
Account termination: Users who violate our policies are banned. Banned users are signed out automatically and prevented from accessing the platform.
Authentication: Sign-in requires phone or Telegram verification, reducing the prevalence of disposable, abuse-driven accounts.
Continuous improvement: We regularly review our moderation tooling and detection capabilities, and we will adopt additional safeguards (including automated detection) as the platform grows.
6. Age Requirements
Mahallify is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly allow account creation by anyone under 13. If we become aware that a user is under 13, we will terminate the account and delete associated data promptly. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us immediately at support@mahallify.us.
7. Compliance Officer
Mahallify has designated a person responsible for child safety compliance, including the timely review of reports and the filing of CyberTipline reports with NCMEC. All CSAE-related communications are routed to this person and treated as the highest priority.
8. Changes to These Standards
We may update these Child Safety Standards from time to time to reflect changes in law, our practices, or the platform. The current version is always available at mahallify.us/safety with a revised "Last updated" date.
